When you walk by car or on your feet, in Al Ain city you feel that is the city which has a special character, where you just get the sense of the city vibrant fragrance of history, including holdings of heritage material represented in the Forts, Castles, Mosques, Falajs, and Tombs dating back more than 3000 years BC.

Story of the Identity of Al Ain City

It has known Al Ain, past and present that (the oasis city) is vibrant, including ingredients of its normal represented by the six oases major groves of palm trees and fruit to enjoy the viewers of every visitor and every resident has decided to walk with his feet between its trees which too far and the extreme south you can see (Hafeet Mounting) standing at a height of 1240 meters to draw a wonderful chart at night as one of the obvious features of the city.

The city has developed over time until today, but it maintained its traditional and cultural character, the construction buildings are low-and-middle of the civic center decorated with lampposts and streets of colors and shapes filled with beauty.

Reference to October 2000, when established the (AL AIN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND TOURISM PROMOTION AUTHORITY), in order to develop an integrated strategy for economic development and tourism for the city, It was the most important features of these plans that to focus on a good investment of natural resources and cultural heritage through the preservation of the material and moral heritage which is owned by the city.

It is the most important projects carried out by the Institution with the beginnings of its launch the project (Al Ain in the eyes of people) was a pioneering idea at the level of the region, aimed at the participation of the community through the representatives of different segments of the city, which includes people, its population and intellectuals of professors and students of the University of United Arab Emirates in addition to dealers, to crystallize the vision to develop the city economically and tourism and build an identity and a new city that represents in a logo indicating it in an attractive and interesting way.

After long and continued studies and discussions until nearly two years supervised by the Institution with the supervision of a company, “Saatchi & Saatchi” which specialized in the design of logos and identities of cities , private companies and settled opinions on the logo was inspired by an inscription enriched located in the (Hili Archeological Park), Which is considered as one of the oldest historical landmarks in UAE, that registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2011.

At the beginning of May 2004, it was the first time Abu Dhabi participated in the Arabian Travel Market exhibition in Dubai to promote Abu Dhabi emirate as a tourism destination. This was considered as the greatest event of touristic propaganda in the Middle East which suitable for the importance of Al Ain city identity that represented in the “pattern for a pair of deer opposite to each other, stands between a man and woman holding each other, which is located at the top of the southern entrance to the cemetery of Hili’s monumental” The cemetery of Hili is a great foundation with the early sixties of the last century by the Danish team with a diameter of 12 meters contains a four-room house, each dedicated for the burial of a specified number of the people. Moreover, that site is the largest complex archaeological to the Bronze Age in the UAE and date back to the third millennium BC.

Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority was promoting this identity for a long time until the identity of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi changed in its current form, and Al Ain became a new identity since the establishment of the office of the Brand of Abu Dhabi in 2007.

This is the story (the logo of Al Ain), It is the city deserved all the attention because of the elements of historical, natural, and unique identity with its daily development in the process which does not end toward excellence, where it was announced recently on the Urban Structure Framework Plan “Al Ain 2030” for developing and progress.

Al Ain has a lot of heritage sites, and it is the greenest city in the UAE. It is sufficient that the first sites in the UAE that were registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site were in Al Ain and included four main sites: (Al Ain Oasis – Hili archaeological site – Hafeet Tombs – Bida Bint Saud). For this and that, it is the beloved of all habitats and will remain long in the memory of each visitor.
